Seasonal Change and Renewal

Day 55

Firstly, an apology for having been absent for twenty one days. We had a little break on the Isle of Skye visiting my mum and then we have just been enjoying Autumn and generally just catching up. I have been taking pictures everyday for my 365 but have been unable to inspire myself to blog or craft.

Feeling a little more creative of late so I am sure the fire will ignite again soon.

Anyway I hope you are all well and living joyfully and creatively. My second apology is for lack of comments - normal service should commence soon.

I think I am swayed by the change of season and Autumn makes me feel nostalgic and thoughtful. I'm hoping for a new direction to take hold. Where are you heading?

Bubbles in the sun

We were given a bubble machine yesterday and as today has been gloriously sunny we decided to try it out. These are some of my favourite shots from today. There is something very frivolous about bubbles and I love them. It was quite a learning curve about shooting them! Not sure I chose the appropriate lens (macro). Any tips for better shots?

I did learn that planning and preparation may have been needed to think more carefully about what would get in the way and dealing with positioning of the machine and the light/dark spots in the garden. Definitely some learning today.

Hope you have managed one frivolous thing today too.

To Sweden with buttons, bows and beads.

The lovely gals over at Allsorts Challenge Blog have set Travel/Holiday as their theme this week. So I used that as inspiration for this card. I teamed it with Crafting Gina G's sketch and twist on the Craft Mad & Loving It group which was the three Bs - buttons, bows and beads!

Here is the cutest lil' Swedish gal from Hanglar coloured with PMs in the Swedish flag colours. I've included one of the gorgeous Swedish stamps that came on the envelope delivering the Hanglar stamps. Journal tag and Dream tag are Tim Holtz. I've sewn some lil' buttons (one start and one heart) by Debbie Cripps on to the tag and made the decorative pins and bead string. Other buttons and flower are from my stash. The alphabet stamps were by G Studio and allowed me to add the 'Live the' to the sentiment. The ribbon is from Paperartsy. Lastly the paper and card are DCWV.

Thanks for looking.

The Sunday Creative - Nostalgia

Maegan's promt this week over at The Sunday Creative is : Nostalgia

Nostalgia: n. a wistful yearning for something past or irrecoverable

'So I turned to the Garden of Love
That so many sweet flowers bore;'
Blake

A rain-filled day again and nothing captures my Nostalgia for Summer as much as the last rose blooms. This is my favourite Rose in our garden as it is elegant and delicately coloured. It looked particularly nostalgic for the sun in the rain.

Thanks for your time and any feedback.
Have a good week.

Craft Mad & Loving It Cards and a Conker!

Lauren has set the challenges this week for the Craft Mad & Loving It Group.

Her sketch was lovely and the twist was Autumn Shades.
So here especially for Lauren (who is chicken mad - in fact all sort of bird and beast mad!) is my card.

I'm quite pleased with it as I had a go at making my own paper from an article inspiation in Craft Stamper Mag. I used cartridge paper, gesso, die cuts, wax pastels, Glimmer Mist and stamps.

Her themed challenge was Trees - so I went Christmas! I've a batch of these.

Finally, a shot for Friday - a conker!

Thanks for looking and thanks to Lauren for the challenges.

Macro Friday Rainy Sunflower

On such a dark and wet day in a dry moment I managed to get this shot of rain droplets on the Sunflower petals.

This is my shot for Marco Friday over at Blogging From Bolivia.

Have a sunny yellow type of weekend.
