It is February and the calendar event hosted by the wonderfully talented Kate Crane has moved on to the second month. I enjoyed keeping January documented and I can feel the organic process of finding what I like and don't taking over me. Do go and see all the amazing entries on Kate's blog - totally spectacular.

I have decided to doodle and journal at the same time this month now that the base is done.

I Took the advice offered last moth and extended my page with a flap added. Thank you great idea.

Rosie's new challenge on CM&LI this week, but what...

Having looked around the blogosphere I found a fab design here. Mine is no where near as precise as I was running out of time. But I had fun. Paper was a bargain one from Dunelm sale last year ? Grandma's Kitchen Stack? Cardstock was all Papermania. Used label and pennant dies from spellbinders. Two magnolia images coloured with PMs . Sentiment was a swapped image one. The thread was Sew Easy. The button dies were Nellie Snellen, I think.

I enjoyed this but would like to do it again with more time to play.

I am making my February journal page at the mo and have gone with a flap! We will see if this works or not. Can't believe where January has gone, can you? Craftathon 2012 this Friday so I have much to look forward to. Catch you all later in the week. Thanks for stopping by. Xxxx

Kathy set us the challenge Wheels, for our Sunday challenge on the CM&Li site. It has taken me a while to get this ATC sorted for work reasons. Never mind. After stamping, DIing, crackle painting, adding more DI and gel medium and a TH cog and a Darkroom Door word Block stamp I finally finished it a week later!

366 Journal Page: January 2012

Over at The Kathryn Wheel the very (I'm not worthy) Kate Crane shares her wonderful work. I have followed her blog for a while and marvelled at her calendar/journal page layouts. Thought I would have a go. It's not perfect in many ways but I am happy I have actually done a page and am keeping it up to date.

The journal I work in is a bit small. The page is not quite how I envisaged it. There is not enough stamping on it. BUT I made it and it's a start.

The lovely Purple Princess, Kathy, has set our sketch challenge over at CM&LI this week. Triple image too. It is lovely and gorgeous creations are appearing with speed over there.

I needed a new home card for some friends. I've gone for a freebie CS image and put it with a new stamp one of the Darkroom Door WordBlocks. Added a little card in green and DI in Shabby Shutter/ Peeled Paint. A few pieces of card candy and a Kraft card. I think it will do.

New CM&LI Challenge whoop whoop

Lovely sketch from Rosie and gorgeous cards to inspire. Really enjoyed playing. We haven't had a challenge for a while as the lovely team needed a real earned rest. The twist was Used, New and Recycled. All here

I used a new technique (Trish Latimer's painted background) and new buttons. Used were my image and dies. Recycled was my fluffy pink thing! Loved using Trish Latimer's technique as featured in this month's Craft Stamper. Loving lots of the projects this month, hopefully I will have some time to play. Loving the exploding box, canvas bag and hidden message cards. What about you?

Technical hitch

I want to post pics of my doodle page as I need some advice. However, other half is doing technical stuff to the computer and now my iPad won't talk to the picture file-doh. Happy New Year 2012 - Strathmore Class

2012 started today and I and a few of my fellow crafters have signed up for a Strathmore Online Class with Traci Bautisa. Doodling and Mixed Media.
Today was the first lesson, creating backgrounds and creating doodles as the layers grow.

The first step was to create a stencilled background. Here are my stencils.

Here is the first layer. Not sure if it is a bit too light - time will tell as the layers develop.

2012 Wish for space Journal Pages

The Craft Barn has launched a new Art Journal Challenge. With the start of a new year tonight I have decided that I would like to take art journaling as my focus for the year along with my photography. I think both will compliment each other. I started the 365 photo challenge last year but I have to say I didn't keep it up religiously. Life got in the way - it has a habit of doing this in my limited experience. These days instead of feeling guilt I am trying to go with it and accept and be content in the moment. Journaling may help with this - we will see.

The Craft Barn has set up buildings as the topic of the challenge and this has led me to focus on one of my own wishes for 2012 - a space to be me in the crowded world.

I enjoyed playing with acrylics, a mask, Cosmic Shimmers, shrink plastic, doodles and stamps. Thanks for the inspiration The Craft Barn Team.

Loving all the entries so far on the blog - really inspiring. Looking forward to challenge two.

A slow return

This darling snowman was sent to me by Debs, he is not only lovely but he reminds me of a very good day with my crafty buddies at Newbury Racecourse where Debs purchased him. This is my first post in a while and I am still getting used to a number of changes so my posts will be fewer but hopefully I can find the time and creative energy to be part of the community on blogger again in a small way.

I have really enjoyed playing with Deb's image, PMs and Tim Holtz's snowflake die. I've not really got to grips with this die before but just loved the look of it. Much happier playing with it today and have some more ideas now.Have loved looking at all the creativity going on on blogger even though I wasn't posting or creating much. It is so amazing reading about the lives and art that inhabit this space - it is so humbling and inspiring. Here's to the count down to Christmas. Thanks for stopping by. C XXXX

Inky Fun

Today I have two cards inspired by Rosie's picture challenge over on Craft Mad &Loving it Group. Rosie choose Starry Night by Van Gogh - a gorgeous picture. I was inspired by the colours predominantly- the rich blue and yellow.

For my cards I played with Ranger Glossy paper and alcohol inks in Sunshine Yellow, Latte and gold. I also had a play with Sunshine Yellow and Cranberry on to apiece of Ranger Memory Glass. Then I stamped the Dandelion seed head stamp from Lavinia Stamps in Black Stazon over the top. Mounted on blue textured card stock from Cutting Edge Crafts and mounted one on Kraft card stock and one on White. My pal Kathy gave me some seam binding that she, Wynneth and Lauren had dyed with alcohol inks and one of the pieces matched so I used that too. Added sentiments and stuck the memory glass on with sparkle Mod Podge.

I am pleased with these and will definitely be playing with this technique again soon.

Flicking through blogger this morning I found this lovely tutorial by Nicky Cresswell on The Artistic Stampers Creative Team Blog. So I decided to have a play as a reward for keeping up with marking schedule, don't ask!

I used three DIs (Faded Jeans, Worn Lipstick and Milled Lavender) on glossy paper by Ranger and stamps by Darkroom Door. Added a little Glamour Dust and a ribbon from stash and one of my crafty pal Karen's pins. Put it all on to purple card textured card stock and then on to Papermania Kraft card stock.

This is my entry for Craft Mad &Loving It forum as we are having a Free Play session.

I made soup and we had it for lunch.

Got beans ready for tomorrow's tea.

LO and I coloured whilst the BT engineer played.

Did a little more work on a small crochet project - from a pattern on a marvellous blog called Cherry Heart. Here is a real sneak peek indeed.

And lots of play with cuddlies - of course.

There was also exam admin as it is marking season. A few moments of silence and some giggling. Always a time for a quiet glass of wine and blogging too. Oh quite a few telephone calls too - always nice to connect on days and weeks when LO and I are on our own.

Wishing in Pink & Brown

I've been enjoying using my PMs to colour these two images from an image swap - she is a real sweet Tilda. I love the pm colours Rose pink and caramel together and they go nicely with DI colours Spun Sugar and Vintage Photo. Shapes are cut using nesties. The lovely buttons are from Simon Says Shop's Bag-O-Buttons. The ribbon is Papermania which I inked also and just two bits of card candy. I also added a little spun sugar stickle to Tilda's flower and the stamped flower for a little sparkle. The flower was made with a Craft Stamper Mag stamp.

I decided to make a card and alter a Hotel Chocolat box to match.

So here is my entry. A little Norma Fickle Wee with reindeer coloured with Promarkers and a little glitter. Card stock a mixture of Papermania and DCWV. Papers are DCWv Christmas stack. A LOTV sentiment , a button and two silver flakes finish it off.

I have also done the option of making it a gift token holder too.

This is also my entry for Karen's sketch challenge over on Craft Mad & Loving it Group. The sketch was great.

Really love these pirate images.

Love these Nellie Snellen images. I've gone with DIs for colouring and teamed him with card stock (cream&blue from DCWV and Kraft from Papermania). Card candy treasure is from Craftworks. Sentiment is a LOTV.

This is fitting for Karen's song theme over on craft bubble. Yo Ho Ho and a bottle of rum!

Crochet jam jar Cover!

Not the most essential piece of kit but a project I completed on my newest journey in the craft world - teach yourself crochet - the jam jar Cover!

Pattern taken from Nicki Trench's book "Cute and Easy Crochet". I've added the button and beads and the crochet chain tie. It was very relaxing to make - slightly worries I could become obsessed and I'm not sure how many jam jar covers the world needs - lol. Must get back to the bigger project.

I had a lovely postal package this morning - my win from the ABC Christmas Challenge. I picked myself some lovely Basic Grey papers - Sweet Threads, some Claudine Hellmuth Matte Medium and a wonderful Bag-O-Buttons from Simon Says Stamp Shop. I have to say the papers and buttons are more gorgeous than I'd expected. For some of my crafty friends buttons are a precious bling which up until now I didn't really get. I DO NOW!

Any how I am off for a little bit of button stroking right now. Have yourselves a very pleasant Thursday. XXX

Liking the crochet vibe

Have been enjoying experimenting with a few different patterns so here are a few granny squares and flowers and a trial piece of a granny stripe.

Here is a project at the beginning - will show you as I progress - not sure how I will get on so we will see.

I've just treated myself to this lovely book with a token I had for my birthday - I keep them a while so I can have a treat later in the year - lol.

It's nice having something I can do anywhere. What do you all do that you can do wherever?

A Pink Fourth Pearly Birthday

One of LO's friends is Four today - Happy Birthday Hannah - and we are going to her party on Saturday. So here is Tilda celebrating with a pink balloon with a special Anita's Glitterations Four added.

I have used PMs to colour this lil' cutie. Papers are some lovely freebies from Mag. Flower is a Marianne D Die and other one is from a Sizzix one. The lovely Pearls are from Bunny Zoe's Crafts - and are lush.

The LO is Nicola's again from Craft Made & Loving it as it works well. I ripped the paper using a Papermania shaped ruler and the Kraft cardstock is also PMs.

I am entering this in the lovely I love PMs Challenge #67 Pearls. The work on display is amazing and the pearls are divine - so go and check it out.

My first crochet Square

I've discovered a very gorgeous and creative blog written by an uber talented lady - it's called Attic 24 and it's written by Lucy. Do go for a browse and take a coffee as you will be there a while admiring her pics and crochet.

Lucy has many patterns and tutorials which she has created which are fab to follow. I fell in crochet love with her Summer Garden Granny Squares so I've had a go. Whilst it is no-where near Lucy's beautiful standards i am quite thrilled with it as it resembles what i was aiming at first time! A bit more prhttp://www.blogger.com/img/blank.gifactice and you never know I may make a blanket! The best bit is LO has wanted to have a go too, so has been happily playing with her own ball of yellow thread.

Off to town to buy her another colour as she has announced that she needs some pink - of course!

Hanglar and Stanglar Dots.

I have a few little girl birthdays in June so I have to start early on these. The Lovely Hanglar Only Challenge #25 is dots. I thought this was perfect to get going. So here is a cute H&S girlie in a spotty-dotty dress amongst My Mind's Eye Dotty papers. She is coloured in using DIs.

I have used my newly acquired Marianne D flower Die and pearls (they only arrived this morning from the lovely nikki at Bunny Zoe's Craft!). The layout is one designed by Nicola (see post below)I liked it so much I thought I would use it again.

The swirl is a Sizzix die. I've added a little glitter with a clear Sakura pen. The papers were ripped using a shaped ruler by papermania and the card is Kraft cardstock by that Co too.

Do pop over to the Lovely Hanglar Only challenge as there is much to admire and dribble over if you like these cuties.

Up, up and away in pink

The lovely Nicola is hosting this week over on Craft Mad and Loving It so this is based on her lovely sketch and theme - Up, up and away.

I have used DIs to colour this cutie on Crafter's Companion Waterboard. There is a little Glossy Accents on the balloon and some Magic Dust. Papers are a freebie from mag. Sentiment is LOTV and flourish is a vinyl one! The flower is my very own creation using Tattered Floral die, DI, Glossy Accents and Glamour Dust.

I am real proud of actually making this and using it.

So, this is my entry for Nicola's challenge.

A new crafting challenge.

I decided to set myself a new challenge and learn to crochet. I have been seeing the most gorgeous flowers created from crochet and I thought they would be a great way of adding flower embellies to cards and projects.

I bought a book and some hooks and some yarn and some more....

Then life got in the way and I have only had the chance to begin the journey recently but I can proudly present the first deformed creations on this new adventure.

I've decided to go with cream so that i can apparently spritz them with glimmer mists to match the colours to cards.

Hopefully i will have some more time to experiment this week.

J is for....

Joy fold cards over at the ABC Christmas challenge. When my pal Kathy gave a link for this I just knew I wanted to have a go.

So with a Distress Inked Tilda I set about making this new sort of card ( new for me anyway). I have used nests to cut out my shapes and a MS Snowflake punch. Tilda is teamedbwith DCWV papers and card stock on a Papermania Kraft card stock. The various sentiments are by LOTV, D&D and a Bargain one from my craft weekend in Feb.

I have to say I do like the Crafter's Companion Water Colour Board 300g. Although you do have to be careful with the amount of water otherwise it begins to break down.

Ribbon Girl for Stamp with Fun

Could not resist inking my new lovely LOTV girlie up this morning and have attempted to colour her with Distress Inks and a very small amount of Stardust Stickle.

She is teamed with MME papers and DCWV card stock on a Papermania Kraft Card. The lovely ribbon is also by papermania. The flower was made with the Tim Holtz Tattered florals die and card candy. The other dies were Sizzix ones. The Sentiment is also by LOTV.

I am entering this one in a new challenge for me - Stamp With Fun - who's challenge this week is LACE or RIBBON. I've obviously gone with the ribbon! Do go and check the DT work out it is very cool and amazing.

LOTV - Love is in the Air

I have been playing with my DIs again today - really like them but I'm still learning alot. I tried out a new paper today as well - Crafters' Companion Watercolour Board 300lbs.

This is for the lovely Lili Of The Valley Challenge - 'Love Is In The Air'. It's the first time I've entered I think but I don't know why! - LOL.

The super cute stamp and sentiment are LOTV of course.

The Paper is MME and cardstock is DCWV and Papermania. The lovely ribbon is from my crafting weekend away in Feb. I've made the flower with Sir Tim's Tattered Floral Die and some card candy. The heart dies are Sizzix.

Any tips about DI colouring gratefully received. Have a tranquil Tuesday eve, folks.

Lovely Ladies

I really enjoyed making this one. This gorgeous gal was coloured with PMs and rather lots of Glamour Dust for sparkle. I've found some of the beautiful 'Butterflies' stack by DCWV lurking and teamed it with a paper by MME. I've created the flower with Sir Tim's tattered Florals Die (purchased from The Artistic Stamper) and a pearl. The sentiment is LOTV (a new edition for me which are fab).

I've combined two challenges with this card. Firstly, Karen's sketch challenge on Craft Mad & Loving It with the twist 'What's Cooking'. The sketch was lovely to work with.

Cupcake Craft Challenge Blog has new DT, a makeover and a fab new looking blog and blinkies. The challenge this week is anything with a 'C'. So mine are 'cooking' and 'celebrating'. Do go and join in and check out the fab work.

I've gone with the stamp set with these super cute cooking faeries - which I have teamed with the spotlight technique. I've used PMs and Glamour Dust for sparkle. The BP is from the 'Nana's Kitchen' Stack and card stock is DCWV. Sentiment is LOTV and gems Anitas.

Concept of a box

I've recently joined the Milliande Art Community For Women (do take a look and be inspired). The art journaling group has a prompt which is asking you to explore the personal concept of the box. I was totally drawn to this and the page above is what developed.

I enjoyed the process of using acrylics, alcohol inks, blending solution, glossy card, crackle paint, ink pens (White & Black), Glossy Accents and Stickles! Really tried to go with the flow. Have to say the box seems to be a dichotomy for me - at times I hate being imprisoned at others I like the safe containment. What about you?

Firstly two sneek peeks of WIP! Get me! One is a journal page based on a prompt by Milliande which was Your Personal Concept of a Box and the other are cards in progress!

After wearing LO out this morning scooting (her not me!) around Pershore Abbey and Park we have had a blissful afternoon crafting and chatting and listening to music. I managed to make a second card for Debs' challenge on Craft Mad & Loving It - woohoo.

Spring Time Bluebells - the drive this morning to and from Pershore Abbey and Park was full of these. Just a heady sensation for the eyes and nose.

Over the next few posts expect to see some holiday snaps - you have been warned!

Today has been lovely and LO and I sat in the garden making Easter gardens for her great grandparents. This was great as we missed all the hot weather as on our holiday it was rather windy and rainy - typical. At three the attention-span is rather limited so mummy had to help a bit but she liked the results anyway. We hope the recipients do as well.

These are the rather lovely horses that lived outside our holiday home on the rather magical isle of Harris at sunset when it had for once stopped blowing a gale and raining!

Finally LO took this rather cute photo today of her inflatable tiger, everyone should have one I think

Holiday Journal Pages

Whilst away I decided that I should re-aquaint myself with art journaling. It is something I really liked doing but just haven't kept up but have wanted to. I sometimes get stuck - to worried about not being good enough and not having the right ideas and not having the time... Having read some art journaling blogs I was inspired to have another go focusing on process and not end result and by doing ten minutes a day of that's all you have. I have to say this approach really helped and I had fun with a limited amount of supplies as we were away.

All I took was my journal with some preprepared pages, some mags, some water-soluble crayons, White and black pens, White gesso, tim holtz stamps and black ink. I picked up bits and pieces from our travels too.

I have learnt quite a lot doing these and enjoyed the contemplation and thought-process - will keep this up if I can. The thing I really liked is using colour and texture.

I have started creating some Easter Cards today. This was as an excuse to have a go at a flower I saw a tutorial for on a blog browse at the weekend. Kim Dellow had made a lovely Anniversary card and showed how to make round flowers which I thought were lovely. As soon as I saw them I knew I wanted to play with them for Easter. Not sure I am quite there yet but the idea is developing. I recommend Kim's flowers, thanks for the idea. I have used papers from the 'Sugar & Spice' pack.

Challenge on 'Simply Less is More' this week is Masculine.

This challenge I knew what I wanted to do and I've done it.

Stamped sentiment is Paperartsy.

Crown is a Tim Holtz Mask in Distress Inks - Faded Denim, Chipped Sapphire and Dusty Concord. The die is a Nellie Snellen Square.

Dots are done using Tim holtz Design ruler and Ink Pen.

Off The Edge

The lovely Chrissie and Mandi over at the Simply Less is More Challenge Blog have set the challenge 'off The Edge' this week. The entries are amazing and all so different - the most varied techniques appear week after week and my list of 'Must try...' expands every week.

This week I have chosen an Inkadinkadoo stamp from an Inchies set and stamped off the edge of the card along the top and bottom. I have heat embossed with pink embossing powder on cream cardstock. The sentiment is a Whiff of Joy one inked in Archival Sepia ink three times. This was the result of many experiments with different stamps and placings but this was my fav. Some of the others are below!

Floating shaped card

Karen's themed challenge this week was shaped cards - huge intake of breath over here! Really stumped crafter, however I managed to purchase the April Edition of Craft Stamper today and inside was a lovely article by Joanne Wardle about floating fronts. I loved it so decided to have an experiment.. I have to say the article was great to follow and was inspirational so here is my first attempt. You may see a few more as I like muchly. So thanks Joanne.

As you can see I've used a Tilda and papers from the 'Sugar &Spice' range. I've kept it fairly simple as it was an experiment. The sentiment was a freebie and shapes were cut using a NS die cut set. Tilda is coloured with PMs and glamour dust.

I really enjoyed playing with this tonight. I hope you are having a pleasant evening too. Xxx

For such a simple card this has taken me ages to think about and finally get to a point which I like - please don't laugh!

The stamps are Darkroom Door by Rachel Greig. They are stamped in Dew Drop Orchid and Lavender. The gem is from a gem wheel by Anitas.

The other entries over at 'Less is More' Challenge Blog are thought-provoking and so different. Everyone is so helpful and Mandi and Chrissi are taking so much time it really is worth a gander and a go. 'Spread your wings' indeed.

My LO celebrated her third birthday this week and she shares this experience with her baby group who are mostly boys so I have been busy making lots of cards for her friends.

I was inspired by Karen's sketch on CM&LI sketch challenge this week with the added twist 'stripes'.

The image is by Squiggle Stamps and is a digi stamp. He is coloured with PMs and teamed with papers by MME and card stock by DCWV. I've added Glamour Dust to make the 3 on the balloon. The ticket is a Tim Holtz one which is aged with DIs. Card Candy is by Craftworks.

Anniversary Commission

I've finally got around to having a go at the Post It Note technique with DIs (Antique Linen/Wild Honey/Fired Brick). Then stamping over the top (Darkroom Door in Sepia Archival Ink). I've added a few gold stickers to add bling and sentiment. Mounted on some Kraft card and a little brown ribbon from Carol's crafts.

Thanks to Craft Stamper for the idea and Kathy for seeing it in action.

Just realised That Moving Along With The Times theme is Anniversary this week and this fits. The team have used some lovely images from Stitchy Bear Stores - go and check them out.

'Less is More' - Squares

I have been watching with much interest the progress of my craft Buddy Kathy as she explore the CAS muse in her crafting creations. I have to say she creates the most lovely designs and I have admired them. I know they are difficult to do well and have lurked around the 'Less is More' Challenge Blog watching with wonder the weekly challenges. What has inspired me most is the constructive narrative that is taking place over there and how everyone is helping everyone else. Ithink I want a part of that so in honour of my craft buddy I've had a go.

This is a card for her to say one big thank you for the weekend she planned and for her crafting advice (I've done the envelope and inside the card too Kathy!).

I can now vouch for the fact that this is difficult!

I would like to enter this into the 'Less is More' challenge and I look forward to any helpful advice. The entries for the three squares challenge are amazing, with a huge variety of techniques and approaches, do pop over for a gander.

CAS Inspired by Nature

Whilst away I managed to make a card using Kathy's sketch on the Craft Mad & Loving It group. the first time I have used Gilding Flakes which I love. My friend Kathy let me play with hers before I got some of my very own and let me play with the self-adhesive backed paper which the Marianne D die cut through before the gilding flakes were applied. Thanks to Debs for the lend of the Cuttlebug which appeared better than my Big Shot at cutting this (much despair on my part!). Sentiment is one of my new Darkroom Door Stamps stamped in Sepia ink.

I am entering this card into the Allsorts Challenge - Inspired by Nature, as always the girls have the most amazing creations to share.

A big thanks to Kathy for the lovely presents I received this morning as a thank you for driving at the weekend I am now the proud owner of a Tim Holtz Ruler and Darkroom Door Tree stamp - woo hoo. Look out for them in the near future.

Wonderful Weekend

A wonderful weekend away with fellow crafters and a workshop by Rachel Greig of Darkroom Door has refreshed me and my creativity more than I can say. Thanks to Kathy for the organisation and thanks to Debs, Wynneth, Karen, Kathy and Jacqueline for their excellent company and creativity. Wynneth made us all lovely badges.

Kathy had organised a wonderful Hotel The Maple Lodge, run by Phil and Sandra. They were very accommodating and allowed us to craft in the dining room, which just added an extra element of fun to the weekend.

The Saturday was filled with craft shopping and our workshop at the Dawn bibby Design Studio with Rachel and her lovely Darkroom Door Stamps and montage sheets and film strips. It was great to play with these and products from the Viva Decor Range. We made a lovely book.

Kathy made us all lovely thank you cards which was a lovely end to our weekend.

Can't wait until the next one now.

Old-fashioned Hugs and Kisses

Here is my entry for Rosie's lovely sketch challenge with the twist 'hugs&kisses'' over at Craft Mad & Loving It. I am also entering it in the ABC Challenge 'O' for Old-fashioned. The DT have created lots of varied interpretations on this theme.

I have used PMs to colour the old-fashioned Sarah Kays image, adding a little gentle sparkle. Papers are DVWV and gems by Anitas and threads by DMC. The die cuts are Nellie Snellen Ovals.

It is a very exciting weekend starting tomorrow as myself and five other crafters are off to Accrington to stay for the weekend and attend a workshop on Saturday at Dawn Bibby's shop with Rachel Greig of Darkroom Door. Expect pictures on my return of all our fun together. A big thanks to Kathy for doing the organising.

Christmas Receipe in Neutrals

Clare set the receipe over on Craft Mad & Loving It Christmas Receipe Challenge : the ghost of Christmas Present!

1. As White as a ghost
2. A present or gift
3. A touch of traditional Colours
4. A knot or bow

Obviously I've gone for a White card, a touch of gold and a little blue, a knot on the bell and the rope holding the Angel up! The biggest creative bit is the present! I wanted not use my new LOTV stamp so it has to be the gift of the news of the immaculate conception as told to Mary by the Angel. It's in the present because it is a child's nativity play.

I've used Distress Inks to colour with a touch of Sukura sparkle. Hope you like.

I think it also fits with The ABC Challenge N for Neutrals - go and check out the lovely DT Creations and the lovey Whimsy Prize.

Thinking of you

I spend much time thinking about those I hold dear as family and friends - sometimes I do not say it enough or make it clear in anyway that I am - it is too easy to believe that you do not matter - so perhaps we should be explicit about our thoughts. So this is a card in this spirit where the three little words have centre stage.

Papers are yet again Wild Rose Studio ( I will use others next time lol). The aperture was cut with a circle Nestie and flowers with Sizzix dies. All the sparkle is Stardust stickles. The sentiment and butterfly are I think D&D.

I have based the LO on Karen's sketch this week on 'Craft Mad & Loving It' with the theme Flowers. I am also entering it in the Crafty Creations 'Three Little Words' Challenge - some more lovely sentiments that should be vocalised more often so check them out.

I have been trying and trying out the Distress Inks for colouring and think I am getting there. Any tips gratefully received. I have totally enjoyed colouring my new Tilda in even though she is from the Christmas Collection. I think she works well for other occasions too.

All over the challenges this week there are beautiful Reds and Hearts so I hope this card hits a few. Go and check out the amazing creations and PRIZES on offer on each of the Blogs. A lot of the time I kinda feel inadequate when I look at the creations made by others but I enjoy the process so keep going. It is always good to have something to aim at.

Romance Bunnies

These deliciously cute bunnies are by Lili of the Valley and I have coloured them with PMs and Sakura Clear Star Glitter and Glaze pens and StarDust Stickles.

They are teamed with Wild Rose Studio paper and DCWV card stock. I've added more Stickles and a few red swirls and a D&D sentiment.

I have to say I think the LOTV images are great and have just treated myself to some new ones! Can't wait for them to arrive.

I am entering this card in the LOTV Challenge 'Romance' and the I Love PMs challenge 'Anything Goes'. It also fits nicely into Karen's Sunday themed Challenge over on Craft Mad & Loving It Forum 'Nature'.

Lurve is in the air - just love looking at all the little things that appear at this grey time in the shops with splashes of red and heart shapes. I'm on the lookout for the oddest - hopefully I'll get a pic too to share with you. Let me lnow if you spot anything fun.

A Spoonful of Sugar ...

not only helps the medicine go down but also makes quite a cute stamp! I saw this yesterday and had to have it. It is by Trimcraft and was quite reasonable and I think I will use it quite alot for birthday cards.

I've coloured it with PMs and added alot of Clear Star Sakura Glitter pen and a large dollop of Stardust Stickles on the spoon.

It is quite a simple card with some ribbon from Hobbycraft and glittered paper from DCWV 'Nana's Kitchen' stack and some freebie buttons and a little DMC pink thread. The sentiment came in the packet along with a line of cupcakes and a small cupcake - yet to be utilised.

I love this as I like baking, like faeries and like eating glittery cake.

I was inspired not only by the stamp but by Debs again as her Sunday Themed Challenge is 'Bright and Buttons'.

Also by the Passion for Promarkers Challenge 'Let It Shine' set by the talented Gro. That DT sure know how to sparkle and I loved playing along team.

Winter receipe GG

'Craft Mad & Loving It' have come up with a new fortnightly Christmas Receipe Challenge. The lovely Rosie is kicking off the fun with the following receipe: something blue, something with wings and sprinkle with glitter and flowers.

I've taken a paper from a candy sent by the lovely Brenda which is blue and covered with flowers. I've used PM Kraft card stock as the base. the image is a lovely GG which I have attempted to colour with Distress Inks. I've added Sakura clear star glitter pen and stickies to add glitz. I decided to use my square punch to make a feature window. Then in silver Encore ink I stamped snowflakes and the sentiment.

I think this fits the Stamp Something Challenge 'Winter Somethings' too. Really lovely DT work to dribble over there too.

Think I need to keep going with the DIs to improve somewhat and watch a few more tutorials.

Spring Ewes

The lovely Purple Princess KathyK has set the challenges this week over on 'Craft Mad & Loving It' this week. Her Saturday Sketch was fab and the theme was 'Animals'. There have been many lovely entries and techniques used. I went for a card that would look forward to the Spring as I am still finding Winter grey and gruesome. The image was a swap one and I really like it. It is coloured with PMs.

I teamed them with DCWV card and PM Kraft card and Dovecraft paper from their new Oriental stack. The die was a Sizzix flower one and the card candy was Craftworks Oriental Delight Mix. Just added a little Sakura glitter magic too.

Lastly the sentiment was stamped and altered by me to fit.

I'm going to enter this in the 'Spring' Challenge #83 over at 'Moving Along With The Times'. If you want a Spring lift go and check out the DTs' beauties.

KISS Fruity and Warm Tilda

The lovely Rosie challenged the Craft Mad & Loving It Group with the theme 'Fruit and Fibre' this week and this image popped into my mind as ideal and as a way of re-calling the summer during the grey and cold of a British January. I've coloured her with PMs and have been trying to master the blender pen. I've added a little Sakura Glaze pen to her boots and the leaves and Clear Star Glitter to her lace edges and dress spots. I'm quite pleased with her.

I've kept the card as KISS as possible with a little DCWV card stock ( plain and patterned) some fabric flowers and a few punched butterflies. The sentiment is a freebie and is stamped in PM and cut out with a small scalloped nestie. I am entering it in to ' I Love PMs' KISS challenge - go and check out the DT work - awesome. Contests to Karen on her new employment too.

I am also entering this in the challenge Over at 'Stamping for the Weekend' - 'getting warmed up'. Again some lovely DT inspiration and cards to cheer you up.

Time

January is such a strange month in my head - often grey and flat after Christmas. I thought I had escaped this feeling this year but it has hit with a vengence this week. Nothing feels quite right and I am finding it hard to motivate myself to actually get on and 'do' the ideas in my head. It hasn't helped that life has happened and worry and rushing have encroached once more. It will pass and and the current will ebb and flow.

Anyhow, I have got myself to do the Craft Mad and Loving It challenge set by the lovely Rosie (who has bounced back after a difficult period) a smashing sketch and twist - Mirror, Mirror.

I have to say this card reflects my mood and I am not entirely happy with it but it did allow me to play with the Rock Candy Crackle Paint on the clock faces which was funky. The stamp is the Craft Stamper Mag feebie which is ace.

A Wet Afternoon at Goodrich Castle

I thought this window was wonderful - so ornate and robust in the ruin.

Arches are truly majestic even in the rain.

We didn't spot any faeries today but it was very wet. We enjoyed our walk amongst the ruins in the rain - jumping in puddles always makes one happy and there were many today.

An Orange Pearl of a Tilda

I had a little time to create today and this little cherub was coloured with PMs. It was a small chunk of the day but one in which I lost myself and I enjoyed that time of being.

I teamed her up with Kraft card by PM and glittered paper from the Citrus Stack by DCWV. I embossed another paper from the stack with a Sizzix folder and cut out the flowers using the Bigshot. Added a few heart pearls from stash and some card candy for texture. Thanks to Lauren for the LOTV sentiment.

This was conceived for the 'Craft Mad & Loving It' Challenge boasted by Karen this week with her sketch and twist of pearls. I think it will fit for the Magnolia-licious Challenge of Orange and Green too. Lovely inspiring work all around on these two sites if you check them out.

I decided to mass produce some Thank You cards this morning after the mass cleaning and tidying session we had yesterday. LO was happy to sit and paint too.

I think that is all of them finished with a few spare. There is so much to be thankful for in life - I think I need to have more Thank you cards made and sent this year just to remind myself of all the things to cherish. What are you thankful for?

Happy New Year Day

We found these on our walk this morning and they were beautiful and textured.

I thought this bird box was a great symbol for our new beginning and the ever-turning cycle.

Lastly we are having cheddar and sweetcorn scones with halloumi and clementine salad for our New Year's Day supper followed by Christmas cake and Christmas pud ice-cream.

Walking in a winter wonderland

The snow is melting finally, although it is rather slippery under foot in places. The woods were rather eerie this morning in the fog and remnants of snow. A good place to walk off the Christmas festivities and mull over the new beginnings ahead of us and the passing of the last year.

Melting is an interesting phenomena and the thaw is well afoot here. With it life can begin anew and limbo appears to lift. The snow has made it possible to stop this Christmas as it has been impossible to do as much rushing around as normal. I hope new life is gently awakening with you with the thought of new possibilities.
