DCD#3 Anything but a card.

Susie and Vikki over ar DCD have set - anything but a card as their theme for this week. This got me thinking and I decided to have a go at a crayon box - so after grabbing some K&Co Amy Butler papers and die cut, Laura Ashley letter gems and some PM sticky ribbon this is what I made.

I'm quite pleased with it and I enjoyed it. Thanks Susie and Vikki! XXX

Another lucky win!

I was so excited this morning when I discovered that I was the lucky winner of a £20 voucher at Joanna Sheen having entered The Next Level Challenge Blog. If you haven't been over you must because it is so much more than a challenge blog. There are tutorials and links to free stash and the quality of makes is outstanding and the challenges are great. Now trying to decide what to buy!
It has really cheered me up as I fell on Wednesday and tore ligaments in my right foot and I'm a bit housebound at present.

Have a lovely Tuesday everyone. XXX

Pocket Tilda

The theme over at 'Stampin' for the Weekend' is to make a pocket card - so I thought I would have a go this week. I've done a few things for the first time - made a pocket card in this way, used paper piecing for Tilda's outfit and made my own tags.

I've used PM's Bluberry Hill papers, which are just so dreamy. The stamps are all PM with metallic ink and PM paper lace. Glitz Sparkles has been added to the rose decoupage, flower in Tilda's hair and the actual fabric rose.

I've really enjoyed making this, although it's taken ages. Thanks for looking and any comments are gratefully received. XXX

Let's get Stamping 27th June

Had some time this afternoon and had a go at Katie's lovely sketch. Also purchased downloads from Willow Designs - Grace and Bella! Had great fun with magic dust and magic motifs - although I think I may have overdone it! Loving the Dovecraft papers - Wild Blossom - at the moment too. Used whisper 'Strokes' to colour and added an embellishment from Dovecraft and cut out butterflies from paper to add interest. Thanks for looking. XXX

Allsorts Acetate Challenge #7

Challenge set by Jacky this week over at Allsorts is to use acetate. I've never done this but decided to make a shaker card with glitter and shapes behind the acetate. I purchased and received on Friday two new Sugar Nellie stamps and decided to use my GG one. I watercoloured her and added some silver and sparkles. I've teamed it with papers and sentiment from the Paper Pizazz Kids pack and silver glitter paper and co-ordinating roses from Colour Connections. Then I've added swirls, stars, silver and blue glitter and moons from stash.
I really enjoyed creating this as it was different and using a medium I've not used before - I'm now wanting to experiment further. Thanks for a great challenge and thanks for looking and any comments. XXX

DCD#2 Dots and Spots

Susie and Vikki over at DCD have a lovely challenge blog and this week the theme is Spots and Dots. Here is my girly pamper card with spots and dots. I've used pearlescent card in lilac with papers from stash. I've made a dressing table from LP Creative Marble finish card in cream and freebie die cuts. I've punched the edge of the bottom paper and used sticker corners on the top. I've doodled the stand for the dress and the dressing table draw.

Thanks for looking. XXX

Willow Sketchie 11th June finally!

On a bit of a roll today and finally got around to doing this sketchie which I've been meaning to do for ages. Lovely sketchie...

Using one of Sharon's Oriental Delights and some lovely papers from Artymiss this is my card...
Thanks for looking. XXX

'Let's Get Stamping' Sketchie 20th June

A lovely sketch from Sharon this week.

Enjoyed playing with Oriental Delight from Willow Designs and papers from Artymiss. I've used Whisper 'Srokes' to colour the image. Kept it simple this time.

Pop Up Next Level

The new challenge on The Next Level this week is 'Pop Up' or 'Step' cards. I have never done one of these so decided to have a go at the 'Pop Up' for my friend's little girl. The tutorial was easy to follow and I used LP Creative Marble Finish Card in pink for the base and the butterfly punches using the XCut punch. I used the Flower Faery Companion to create the backing paper and sentiments using the Lavender Faery design. Then I added the flowers and brads and thread from stash and a Tilda coloured with Whispers 'Stokes' and a little Glitz Sparkles.

What do you think? I'm pleased - especially with the pop up element. Think I will be using this design again as I really like the 3D effect it gives and creativity it invites with the space to fill.

Thanks for looking. XXX

Wings at Allsorts

The challenge on the Allsorts blog is 'wings' this week. Lovely theme with lovely DT cards. I've made a birthday card using Dovecraft decoupage 'Wild Blossom' by Kate Knight and matching papers. I've also used my XCut butterfly punch and a lovely glittery thread from Kirsten and a computer generated sentiment. I love the colours in this and the shapes, hope my friend does too.
Thanks for looking and have a good week everyone. XXX

Next Level Tilda

A beautiful sketch and other lovely things they have at The Next Level Challenge Blog. I decided to have a go this week but my card Faery has obviously gone on holiday as it has taken ages and just hasn't felt right. Do you get those days?

I had a play with the digital free papers from Shabby Princess (some of the lovelies on TNL) and Adobe PSE7, coloured a running Tilda and present using Whisper Strokes and watercolours. Punched some stars and grabbed some ribbon, brad, flower and button from my stash basket and a K&Co tag. Then I used a PM sentiment stamp and added some faux stitching and Glitz Sparkles and this is what came out. . .

As I said I'm not entirely happy but at least I've entered a creation. I am off to look for that card Faery now. Happy creating everyone. XXX

June ATC Swap - Quilling

I've never tried quilling - which is why I like dee-dee's ATC monthly swap on Craftbubble as it makes me have a go! Yesterday afternoon while Tilly was napping I had a go. Can't say they are the most stunning creations but it's a start. I think the backing is a bit too overpowering. I made a rose and a butterfly. I think I will have another go and start using it on cards occaisionally just for an added bit of depth.

Another beautiful day here, yesterday - today is very grey. Hopefully Tilly will be in a better mood (I don't think she likes the heat). I'm hoping to have a go at The Next Generation challenge - great sketch.

I'm also part way through a Father's Day card - using a photo we took on holiday and editing using PSE.
Have a good day. XXX

'Let's Get Stamping' 13th June Challenge

Karen has set a lovely sketchie on the 'Let's Get Stamping' Forum on Craftbubble.

Decided to use PB hedgie with Blossoms and Butterflies papers and a XCut butterfly stamp on a pearlescent card. Tried some Glitz Sparkles on the flower petals and butterfly wings for the first time - I love it because it is so easy to use. Not sure if it doesn't need something else - but decided to stop meddling as you can go to far.

Thanks to Katie for picking my card last week - I'm looking forward to playing with my Digi Download.

Here's the card:

Have a good week everyone. XXX

Look what arrived in the post!

Thank you Anna, my lovely prize arrived this afternoon - so i'm off to play - hope Tilly has a long sleep this afternoon. We've been swimming this morning so that usually means two hours of peace - but you never know. XXX

Pink and White Tilda

The Allsorts challenge this week is pink and white so I decided to use one of the lovely Tildas Katie sent me to make a summer swinging card. I've used Blueberry Hill and Blossoms and Butterflies papers, Hero Arts butterfly and PM Happy Birthday stamps, Whisper Strokes pens, lovely white thread sent by Kirsten and other bits from my stash. Not sure if I've overdone it and I don't like the dark pink I used on her socks - it's red or is it me?

See what you think. Have a good day. XXX

Thank you Kirsten!

I have just received my candy from Kirsten of Allsorts Challenge Blog and I just wanted to say thank you so much. She has been so very generous and I feel like I'm in a sweetie shop. So I'm off to have a play. Again thanks so much, Kirsten.

Orange and Purple - no really!

The 'Lets Get Stamping' challenge this week was set by Katie with a twist of using scraps and colours you wouldn't normally put together. The sketch was lovely as were the DT cards.

I looked in my scraps basket and orange and purple hit me - so that's what I've used. Can't say I love it but I did enjoy stamping with the Whispers Archival Lilac ink pad. The papers were Papermania Orange with PM stamps and other bits from stash, including Flower Faery - probably freebies from various magazines.

Have a good evening. XXX

I won some Candy!

Just clicked on to see the new Allsorts Challnge - check it out there is a link on my side bar - to find I had been randomly picked for the surprise candy. I'm very excited as any thing I can add to my stash is helpful. The top five cards are lovely and very inspiring.

Weather here is awful. Tilly and I are off to a friend's joint 1st and 2nd Birthday celebration - so not much time for crafting today.

The Allsorts challenge this week is Pink and White and the Craftbubble 'Let's get Stamping' sketch is
so off to party and to get my thinking hat on. Hope everyone else is having a good time. XXX

Allsorts Challenge 3 'Curly Swirly'

My first go at this challenge blog - loved the theme. Decided to use sping/summmer colours with papers from 'Butterflies and Blossoms' and Papermania 'Rich Green'. Added in a piece from Smirk and a Papermania stamp and some doodles of my own using a Whisper 'Strokes' pen.

Quite pleased with it - even though it is quite simple.

Have a lovely Friday. XXX
