DCD Sketch

Susie and Vicki over at DCD have a great sketch...

I had a play this evening and used a SN 'Choose' stamp which I love some K&Co paper, Charlotte Lewis hearts and Stickers from Anita's. This is what happened...

Haven't had much time this week to craft, hopefully will get more time later this week. I'm working on a 40th anniversary card for my DH's sister and brother-in-law - not going smoothly today.

Thanks for looking have a lovely Thursday. XXX

Tag it on Challenge #13

A lovely DragonsDream Tag it on challenge this week which I've actually done. Pink spots and swirls with a real stamp.

I've cut out a piece of pink pearlescent card with Friskars paper edgers and stamped a Personal Impressions stamp on it in orchid pink fading towards the middle. Rubbed an old rag in the ink and smeared over the tag. Then used another Personal Impressions stamp in Whispers 'Strokes' dark pink in the middle. I've then added some pink seed beads as the dots and a piece of pink quilling paper also rubbed with the ink and three beads added and attached using an Xcut flower punch.

Really enjoyed playing, thanks Frankie. XXX

A girly X!

The weather has not been great again today so after a morning in town buying Tilly's first Wellies whilst she was sleeping I had a blog hop and found...

There is a really groovy sketch over at ABC Challenge this week - X is for...and the theme over at Funky Fairys Challenge is 'Girly'. A great combination for a friend's birthday card.

Loved playing with the PM and Personal Impressions stamps in silver and pink, coloured with Whispers 'STrokes' pens. The papers from FF are fantastic and come in so many shades it's a delight to play with. I'm still playing around with the 3D flowers as discovered on The Next Level tutorial by Abby. (It is a real shame that blog has had to close.) I changed some downloaded flowers from Capricious Scraps using the PSE package and then cut them and glued a second row of petals to make it dimensional, colouring the backs. The ribbon is PM and the sentiment from FF. Thanks for looking. XXX

Funky Thank you

There is a lovely sketch over at Funky Fairys Challenge this week...
and I needed a thank you card and thought this would be perfect. So with PM scalloped cardstock in pink and FF papers (free 'Stars' in two shades of pink and 'It's just so distressing Vol 3' pinks folder) off I went.

I've added a piece cut from a pink pearlescent card and a pink piece of hand made paper from Artymiss. The stamps are PM 'Party' in Encore Silver and DewDrop pearlescent orchid. The balloons are stamped on vellum and the flowers on an LP shape. The stars are punched with an xcut punch and the sentiment was a freebie

Blue and white tangled window.

The ABC challenge this week is W for Window and the Colour Create Challenege is Blue and White which I thought would work beautifully together. Then the 'STampin' for the Weekend' have a song title inspiration - choose one of the three titles as inspiration - I love Bob Dylan - so it had to be 'Tangled up in Blue' .

I've used:
Part of the Leanne Ellis stamp 'Choose' and 'Flower Girl' GG by S. Woolcott in blue (Whispers) and Clear stamps 'Happy Birthday' in Encore metallic silver

Marble finish LP blue cardstock and acetate

Blueberry Hill paper

Downloaded flowers from Retrodiva

Flower pot Button by Blumenthal Lansing Crafts
Silver pen
Ribbon, heart, cord and gems from stash

I really enjoyed making this and having a general play. Thanks for looking and any comments.

Have a lovely week all. XXX

The Next Level

It is my Mum's birthday next Monday so I have started playing around with card designs for her. I decided to have a go with the sketchie on The Next Level, which as usual is accompanied with the most fantastic tutorials and freebies and advice and beautiful creations.

I've chosen a Funky Fairy from Funky Fairy and two of their distressed papers. I've teamed it with a paper sent to me by Katie and marbled card which I stamped on and distressed with a blue Whisper pen and Dovecraft Fantasy emblem stamp. I decoupaged the flowers on the image and the very bottom of her boots. I then used the tutorial from last week and some Willow design digi flowers and made them 3D - which I like alot. I punced out four corners using a dovecraft corner punch and added them. Last touches were to add the small gems and sentiment which were freebies from various mags.

Craftbubble 'Let's Get Stamping' Sketchie by Karen

This week the lovely Karen has been left holding the reins single handed and has given us this lovely sketchie...

Lilac and brown seemed to appear and off I went. Adapted the tutorial from last week at The Next Level and 3D the flowers using layers - pleased with this and will be trying it out again soon. Loving stamping and edging the background with stamps and ink at the moment as well as watercolouring.

Weather rainy and windy tonight - but we did have a loveky sunny period this morning when Tilly and I walked to the play park.

Thanks for looking xxx

Challenge #5 Kim's Sketch

There are two sketches to choose from over at 'Stampin' for the Weekend' both of which are great. I chose Kim's sketch in the end and used some stuff left over from another card I made this week and added other bits.

Receipe:

Pearlecent card in Peach - distressed with Straw Matt ink and stamped on

Wild Blossom papers and brads from Dovecraft plus a freebie paper from 'Cards and Paercraft' Mag - distressed and stamped as card

Fairy Digi stamp from Willow Designs - watercoloured and metallic pens

Magic Motif and Magic Dust used on Fairy wings and for sentiment

I am enjoying experimenting with distressing and stamping at the moment and really like the look - but I think I need to be braver. Perhaps next time!

Thanks for looking have a good evening. XXX

Ice white and blue.

Just a quick post as I didn't think I'd have time to do this card - but I have. Really pleased with it. Papers were donated in a Candy by Katie, GG is coloured with Whisper 'Strokes' and sentiment was a treat from Kirsten. The stamp is Dovecraft - fantasy emblem pack and I used Silver metallic ink. Card and gems were from stash.

Off to bed now as all crafted out for today. Thanks for looking. XXX

Shaped buttons and ribbons!

Decided to spend tonight trying new things - so there are parts of this card that I'm really happy with and bits that I'm not I decided to use the Allsorts Challenge of a shaped card and The Next Level Challenge of 'Buttons and Bows'.

Idea: Birthday present with fairy inside

Receipe: Marbled card for present card
Whisper Ink - Straw Matt for distressing and stamping
Dovecraft Fantasy Emblem stamp for background and ribbon effect
Dovecraft Papers 'Wild Blossom'
Digi Fairy Stamp from Willow Designs - Watercoloured, metallic pen and glitter
Glitter pad paper and X-Cut Ruler
'Dress It Up' buttons from Debbie Cripps
PM sentiment stamp
Ribbons, cake wires and gems from stash

Any comments gratefully received and thank you so much for looking. XXX

Say it with Flowers Tag

I've just discovered a lovely tag challenge blog called DragonsDream Tag It on. This weeks theme is 'Say it with Flowers' so I had an experiment with watercolour paper and inks (lilac and silver) stamped on the lilac with a Dovecraft Fantasy emblem stamp, distressed some 'Wild Blossom' paper and stamped another Fantasy stamp in black on the top. Distressed some flowers from stash and PM brads and added a purple gem and here is the result.

I definitely like the distressing and the lilac stamp on lilac rubbed watercolour paper - will experiment more with this in the future. I want to get some inks and try some resist techniques too.
Thanks for looking. XXX

Red, White and Blue Bonanza!

Happy 4th July! This has set many challenges to set the colours red, white and blue as their theme so I've had a go and entered a few.

I started by using Karen's sketchie on 'Let's Get Stamping' group.

Then I experimented with different red, white and blue combos.

Finally, went with a red and white watercoloured GG set on blue star papers from Paper Pizazz Kids pack. Stamped Dovecraft fantasy emblem behind my GG and inked the edges with silver metallic ink. Made stripes with some lovely fibres from Arty Miss and a chocolate ribbon. Added some PaperMania white brads and punched red card stars and made the sentiment using card, foil and a PM sticker.

I am quite pleased with the result and any comments are welcome. Thank you for taking the time to look. XXX
