June Challenge 2012

The lovely Clare set the New Monthly Challenge on Craft Mad & Loving It Forum. For June she decided on a celebratory 'Open a bottle...'

You may have noticed it is June 30th I have really struggled to find inspiration but eventually I have got there...

I have used a variety of Dylusions Spray Ink, PP in Magenta, stamps from a set about ART. An image someone sent in a swap (thanks). I enjoyed doodling with a Faber Castell pen and added a tag.

I also used some Tim Holtz stamps too.

Louise has already set July's challenge to celebrate London and the Olympics, hope I get that done in better time!

I am looking forward to July 8th and going to Newbury Stamp Show with Kathy ( Purple Princess) and Lauren (Bluebertie) and meeting up with Debs (Ribbon Dreams). A gal has got to have something to look forward too.

Thanks for stopping by. Hugs C XxX

Making scrapbooks

I am partaking in an online class at the moment to do with using sketchbooks in the classroom. Last week was class one where we had to make our sketchbooks. I have done two: an elastic band one made from scratch and the other is an altered purchased one. I have looked forward to this and have enjoyed it so far.

I think the elastic band one would be fab to use as a reading journal in class.

I am looking forward to filling them now. Our next lesson is tomorrow.

If you are interested the site is : www.accessart.org

I thought the summer term was meant to be more...but it is full on! Hence my lack of posts.

See you soon I hope. xxx

Playing but nothing finished...

Firstly, I am going to share a journal page. I used the Art Cafe Journal (thanks Clare for the link) prompt from last week which was a process make, stamps, acrylics, masks (positive &negative) more acrylics then embellishments. I really liked the process. I am not sure it is entirely finished but I loved making it. I am learning that knowing when a page is finished is like asking how long is a piece of string. So for now it is finished but who knows?

The starting point - stamping.

Then lots of adding of layers...

Finally, I have added a journal tag and some candy.

I have spent the rest of the day preparing for work, can't believe it is the last half term of my first year back! I. Have baked some more scones, had friends over to play and created a little but nothing that is finished. I am trying to sort out my entry for Clare's June challenge ' Crack open a bottle' on Craft Mad & Loving It but just can't quite get an idea together yet. I thought I had one but then it didn't really come together today. Oh well...

Hope the week ahead goes well for you and me. Less crafting for a while but then a whole Summer...

Crafty Day

My pal, Kathy K and I headed off this morning (once her Satnav had been corrected as to where I live) to Kidderminster and The Treasury where our Pan Pastels Workshop was being held.

We arrived in good time had a coffee and got on over to the shop. We thought we were the first there so we had a brief look around the shop - mmmmmmmmm -

Kathy was already to shop! But we then realised everyone else was seated and ready to go! So we found the naughty corner Untitledand sat through the workshop. Patti ran the workshop as the person who was supposed to do it had had to drop out. She did a sterling job considering she only discovered she would be doing it on Thurs.

Look at those PPs. Kathy and I had a lovely time chatting. Kathy let me use her PPs too.

Don't they look yummy, they are very creamy and really nice to use on all sorts of Cardstock.

We finished with a little shopping and a sandwich. Kathy got to see my crafting garage space, which was absolutely untidy (very embarrassing). I decided that alongside the rest of the housework I really should tidy it up.

Thank you Kathy for a super day. C X

Three Hearts Page ii

I have been taking Christy Tomlinson's Three Hearts Journal Class, at my own pace you understand! I have completed a second page, which is a personal page, I have hidden most of the journaling so I am happy to share.

I even got my Melt Pot out for the first time and worked with melted wax for an extra Goth touch.

I really enjoyed making this page, but it has taken ages to complete and feel that it is finished.

What is this page about? Partly my adolescent self and partly my fantastical self and partly the self I am on the inside at times. It is a complicated business 'being' as well as relatively simple. I think I am feeling a bit stretched as I don't seem to be making sense. Clarity is a little waxed on the page and in reality at the moment. Thanks for floating by today. C X

Catch Up!

Hope you are all well and enjoying crafting, Jubilee and life in general. Here are a few things we've been up to. Thanks for stopping by.

Calendar Pages - May complete and June started. go and see Kate Crane's and all the other entries on The Kathryn Wheel.

A few cards for all occasions.

Some celebrating...

And baking...2012 Jubilee Cream Tea

I am very excited as not only is it Half Term here in England but on Saturday my crafty pal Purple Princess (aka Kathy K) has managed to get us both on a Pan Pastels course at The Treasury in Kidderminster. So she is driving up and we are heading off on a crafty adventure. What a thing to look forward.

Have a wonderful Wednesday. C X
