Die-cut Dreamers

I decided to have a go at using die-cuts as Susie on Craftbubble has created a new group called 'Die-cut Dreamers'. Decided to make a handbag card and use a die cut for the clasp and for some of the decoration. Teamed the K&Co diecuts and paper with a Papermania freebie stamp and metallic ink and various bits and bobs. Really enjoyed making this, I may make some more on the same theme - a girl can never have too many bags, can they?

Looking forward to a nice walk and maybe a quick stop for refreshments when Tilly wakes from her afternoon sleep. XXX

Willow Sketchie 1st Attempt

I've been following the Willow Sketchie and Sharon's blog for a while and this week I decided to have a go. This is the Sketchie:

I've used the gorgeous Woody download and papers sent to me by Katie. I've also used a star punch by Xcut and Papermania accent sticker and some twisted thread from a K&Co set.

I really like the colours that pick up on the balloon Woody is holding.

What do you think?

Thanks Katie

Look at the lovely goodies Katie sent me - I am itching to use them.
Have a good Friday everyone. XXX

Holiday Post

A very quick post as we are on holiday and I have brief access to the internet. We have been staying on the Isle of Harris last week http://www.scotland-info.co.uk/shore/ and are now on the Isle of Skye nbhttp://uk.geocities.com/malcolmjay@btinternet.com/ . Weather mixed but still having a great time.

Tilly learning to walk independently which is fab but scary too! Will post some piccies when we get back home on Thurs.

Just looking at the blogs I follow time goes so quickly and people have made the most amazing cards.

'The Next Level' looks a very exciting new challenge site too. http://thenextlevelchallenge.blogspot.com/

Look at it's lovely candy!

Hope everyone has a great Bank Holiday. XXX

Bookmarks

As I love reading and faeries I had to enter the Craftbubble bookmark comp to win Flower Faery Goodies. Started off playing with Elemants 7 for a male bookmark. The lyering options are fantastic and the opacity within each layer is great.

Then I used the new Papermainia 'Blueberry Hill' range and a Flower Faery for a female bookmark. Added some paper lace and a ribbon onto which I sewed star buttons which I attached using a punch by Xcut. There is a wee bit of decoupage on the leaves of the rose too.

Enjoyed playing with high and low tech on these two pieces.
Off on holiday on Thursday so not much time for blogging or crafting. XXX

Altered Art ATCs for Craftbubble

Have had lots of fun creating these ATCs for the MAy swap. The theme is altered/recycled art. So, I have used packaging from a present my DH gave me from Portugal, birthday cards and packaging from a K&Co Scrap Kit. GReat fun.

Still playing with Adobe photoshop 7.0

Trying to get to grips with this program and what to do with it. Playing with photos I took on Sat in a bluebell wood. Made a tag using layering and acetate with photo and some lines of poetry. Going to see what other effects I can create later as Tilly has woken up. We had a great morning with my NCT group at a play area this morning so she was exhausted! XXX

Good enough to eat!

There is this lovely sketchie over on the Truly Scrumptious Challenge blog at the moment with the theme of 'Good enough to eat' so I have used this to create a birthday card for my best friend. I've used a pearlescent card with papers from 'Smirk' and 'Blossoms and Butterflies' with flowers from my stash and I made my cupcakes. The stamp inside is a Willow Design 'Fairy cake' one. I also used some ink around the edge of the image and two sweetie stickers.

Not entirely happy with it as I worry about over-doing it or not doing enough. Oh well I suppose I'll get the hang of it at some point. XXX

Inspired by a Willow Sketchie - gift bag for a friend's birthday

to follow the sketchie and make anything other than a card!SO....instead of using a download or stamps for your image..I want you to use a picture, it can be of a family member, pet, food, baby..flower..or if your not sure of that try cutting an image from a magazine.

Have been thinking about this for some time - I have used a bag given to me by DH for template. I used K&Co Paper for the bag. I've recently discovered Adobe Photoshop 7.0 and have been playing with my photos. I have taken my original photo of a seed head and cropped it then applied watercolour and changed the colour saturation to match my bow. I've also layered the image to give some depth. Then I matched some jewels with flowers from my candy win to create flowers with sparkle. The sentiment was free with a magazine.

So here is my bag!

Couldn't enter it as I've not used anything from Willow Designs this time. But I love the bag and hopefully my friend will too. XXX

WOW - I am so excited!

I am sooooo excited. I have been picked to receive two lots of blog candy - thanks to Shirley and Katie (go check their blogs and lovely work out).

On top of this gorgeous new stash I have just discovered that Sharon at Willow Designs has picked the names I thought would suit for her two new gorgeously cute owl designs - Willow and Woody. I get these for free to use in my work. I am totally blown away and want to say thanks to Sharon - follow the link on the left to her blog and shop.

Off to celebrate such a lovely way to begin card-making and blogging. Hope everyone else has a good week. XXX
