Handmade blooms

The sun is shining and the flowers are blooming!
Over at Posh Designs Scrapbook Store there was a really cool tutorial on handmade flowers which really appealed to me. Basically scraps of paper (K&Co and Dovecraft in this case), glue, a button and glitter. I've made flowers before by stamping and cutting but I thought this looked really effective in a non-conventional manner. So this is my take on it.
Then I noticed that there were a few challenges to include flowers and I needed a birthday card. So I've added a Sarah Kay image coloured with PMs.

Some more K&Co papers and sentiment, alittle bit of corner punching and paper cutting and a smidgen of Sparkles.
I'm entering this into:
1. Susie and Vikki's lovely Die Cut Dreams Challenge - Make your own flowers
2. Pollycraft Mondays Challenge - Make your own Flowers
3. Creative Card Crew Challenge - April Showers bring May Flowers
Go and see all the lovely DT work - totally awesome.
Thanks for looking and any comments.

Super Candy from Rach

Dribble and drool - how cool is this candy from Rach.

I am so pleased she is back posting as her cards are stunningly cute and beautifully coloured. You have until 2nd May to enter.

Butterfly Tilda

I have returned to my cooking Tilda for this card, as I really like this image, but I've added some lovely Altered Art butterfly wings to her because she has been baking butterfly cakes of course!
I've coloured her and her cakes using PMs and have teamed her with Wild Rose Studio papers and PM card and ribbon. I've heat embossed butterfly Hero Art stamps on to the card stock. The sentiment is a Funky Fairy download as are the cupcakes. The butterfly wings are from Lisa's Altered Art store. The punch is a Dovecraft one.

This easel card, I think I love these cards again, is inspired by Katie's sketch and twist over at LGS and I'm entering her into two other challenges too.

1. Simon Says Challenge - Something with Wings
2. Allsorts - Be inspired (beautiful butterfly bracelet)

Off to think about my Altered House for a very exciting project and blog hop on 1st/2nd May - watch this space!

Thanks for your time. XXX

Just breathe ... just happened...

I was not planning to make a card today but this happened after I saw the post on Michelle Perkett's Challenge Blog. I loved the colour combo.

I had recently purchased this lovely from Michelle and decided she needed an outing. She is really lovely to colour. Go and check out Michelle's designs they are outstanding.

I watercoloured her and some extra flowers from another image and put her with K&Co sentiments and QVC card layers. I've added gems (Anita's and Papermania) and Sparkle as well as a star button and some blue fibres.
Thanks for looking and go and check the DT work on Michelle's blog too.
I have to say I really dig these designs and this colour combo. It was nice to make an easel card too as it's been a while.

Thanks for looking.

Double Image heart and an unfinished journal page

Clare is the GD this week over at LGS and this is her sketch with a twist of 'seeing double'. I really didn't know which way to go until I had a rummage through my image folder (thanks Susie Sugar) and found these hearts.

So my card is one with double hearts for a birthday. But it did get me thinking and I quite like this idea and want to try one with one stamp and use a bit of the stamp on the second image - we will see if I get round to it or not.

I've been working on a SOAR page as inspired by Rachel's A Year ... blog but I've got stuck/ I've a few ideas but not sure which way to go - does anyone else get this? It feels like being in paralysis - so I'm waiting for a nudge at the moment before it is finished = I kinda wondered if it was finished? I'm still not sure.

Thanks for your time.

Steampunk ATC for The Scrappy Tree

Safety Fly Costumes
This is my ATC for The Scarppy Tree steampunk ATC project.
This is a totally new concept to me but I really enjoyed playing with the TH sprockets and collage sheets and ink and GAs and doodling. You get the picture. I also really liked researching the concept - I've learnt quite alot and had my imagination fired too - can't be bad can it.
What's firing you up at the moment?

Ribbon and Bows

I have used Lauren's sketch again for this card too, and the same Dovecraft papers. The theme over at Stampin' for the Weekend is ribbons and bows so I decided that I would enter this one. I haven't entered over there for a while and I loved looking at the inspiration this week. Go and check them out as they are fab.
This is one of my new digi images by Michelle Perkett go and check her designs out - totally lovely. I've used PMs to colour her and rather alot of Sparkles. The ribbon is from Hobbeycraft and the embellies are from my stash. I just love the filigree gauze which was from Artymiss ages ago and I think fits this lady perfectly.
Thanks for looking.

LGS Spring Garden

Lauren has designed the sketch this week over at LGS and asked for the theme The Spring Garden.
It always takes me ages to figure out these sketches but I love the themes.

I've re-discovered these Dovecraft papers which I love because they are so cheerful - it's all very orange and green - a surprise to me too!
I've used PMs on to photo paper with the digi stamp from Pink Gems. The sentiment is a Basicgrey one.
Thanks Lauren enjoyed this one.

Spring album finished.

Spring flowers are so ravishingly wonderful - these are in my garden and I love adoring them.

I have finally finished my paper bag album - this page celebrates 'COLOUR' and the amazing idea that it does not exist in reality but is to do with light frequencies. It relates to my love of flowers and using colour (thanks to Lisa for this lovely image).

This page is to remind me to live in the moment and enjoy the quality of it.

This is a flap in the last page and is about nature and cycles and cogs!

My last page - Made with love.

I'm going to fill the two pockets with pictures from this Spring so I have a record of it.

A moment to capture - LO enjoying the process of creating.

I've really enjoyed this project - so thanks to Kristin over at The Scrappy Tree for the inspiration and know-how. Julie had made a really amazing album so go and check it out.

I would definately like to do one of these in the future to try a diffent style out and theme.

What are you experimenting with at the moment?

Thanks for looking.

Hope you have sun where you are too.

Pink and green

Karen's sketch this week over at LGS was lovely and her twist was 'pink and green' - not one I use much but I liked seeing the different tones over on the group - mine's quite pale - which was a surprise!

Thanks for the image to the kind soul who swapped her.

I'm not totally happy with this one and I don't know why (excuse the wonky camera shot) - I think it needs something else - hey ho!

I've been a little naughty and purchased some items from Jennie at The Artistic Stamper and two digi stamps from this lovely designer Michelle Perkette. Can't wait to play!

Have a good evening.

The Paper Bag experiment continues...

I've finished three more pages in this little experiment. Two are about Easter in Spring. One is based on my birthday which is in Spring.

The fun of a rabbit hunt! She doesn't like choc but loves small shiny things - long may it last.

Rebirth and resurrection.

The excitement of birthdays - I love them.
Just having fun expressing some ideas and creating - spring? I feel a bit like Zebedee - boing!
How does spring make you feel?

Happy Easter

Firstly I wanted to share a piece of birthday cake with you all as it was mine yesterday. We had a lovely day at Kennilworth castle in Warwickshire. The sun shone and we had a picnic! It was lovely and I really liked the Privy Garden. I'm a bit of a sucker for Elizabethan design. White chocolate and raspberry cake - mmmmm. My lovely DH gave me this necklace which I absolutley love - there is something very tactile and primeval about beads - even the earliest of peoples seem to have owned glass beads. The great thing about these is that you can change and collect as many as you want - I feel another obsession starting!

These are the lovely cards I received from the group of lovelies on the LGS site - the effort and thought that have gone into them are amazing and therefore very dear. We also send a stamped image to each other as a pressie. Thanks girls.
Lastly, I hope that the Easter bunny has visited you and if not that you are having a wonderful day with a little sunshine (in whatever form pleases you). XXX

Skylark page in Paper bag album

This is my second page in my paper bag SPRING themed album -'Skylark'.
It's a horrid day here and I hope all skylarks are sheltering somewhere warm!
The lines are from Shelley's poem 'To a Skylark'. I think the 'vernal showers' should be replaced with 'vernal torrents' today. Here's hoping for some golden rays tomorrow.
I think my next page will be for Easter. That bunny better be hopping !
