Range of creations from last couple of weeks

I am managing to play a little but not to post. At least that is something. I do love reading blogs just before I go to bed - I feel very inspired that way.

I quite enjoyed using heat embossing and a Chocolate Baroque stamp for this card.

These were for new arrivals in May.

I am working on some journal pages but they are not quite ready yet. I am enjoying baking, the sun and a quiet afternoon at the moment. I am also liking the Tri Boss embossing folder - you must have a look at them different depths of embossing on one folder - great stuff with Distress Inks. Look out for them.

White embossing

It is quite a nice evening here in this part of the UK. I have had a busy day, not interesting, just busy. I did find a little time to make a few cards. One of which was inspired by Jaine Drake's article in this month's Craft Stamper Mag. All about using die cuts and white embossing powder on Kraft Cardstock.

Hobbycraft was placed on this afternoon's itinerary, between Tesco and baking a cake. Luckily, they had one white embossing powder - sea foam! Obviously I snatched a few other items on my way to the till whilst laughing hysterically.

After baking said Victoria Sandwich, I had a little practise. Various attempts later and ...

I really like this effect and have some ideas for Christmas cards - watch this space.

Clare had challenged us with splodges on Craft Mad & Loving It so thought I would break open some Chocolate Baroque stamps and tumbled glass DI. Not sure the card is totally successful but it is a stepping stone to something I am contemplating.

Hope you have a good week. Thanks for stopping by today. Hugs Cherry XXX

Yellow

A yellow Tilda, all wrong for Kathy' s challenge - never mind. Must read challenges more carefully! I did enjoy making it though. Gold acrylic paint stamped with a T H stamp on to a Kraft card. Layered textured Papermania card with a Tilda on top coloured with PMs and a Sakura gold glitter pen.

Domesticated Animals

Kathy's challenge to herald the last weekly challenge over on Craft Mad & Loving It was domesticated animals. I have tried out a new stamp for this one, two rabbits.

I used DIs to colour it in.

I also managed a little trip to Goodrich Castle and a little baking with LO today. It has been a good day if a little wet, again.

Cheese scones and chocolate cupcakes.

Hope you have had a fab day too. Hugs C XXX

What to take on holiday?

Kathy set the themed challenge last Sunday on Craft Mad & Loving It forum, sadly the weekly themes are ending as the DT need time. So a very big thank you for all the fun we have had to the girls. As usual at the mo I am late but I really enjoyed doing my journal page. I have kinda gone my own way and turned it round to what I bring back from my holiday, hope that is ok Kathy.

Which for me are the colours and freshness and freedom of the highlands, usually. I really liked using the clear crackle paint in areas on the page to give it a vintage feel with distress ink over the top to exaggerate the cracks. They also represent the crack I take on holiday that the break usually heals too - lol

Thanks for stopping by. Have a good BH if you are in England. Hugs C xxxx

Let it Snow and hearts

Last week Karen set the challenge on Craft Mad & Loving It forum and I had a good think and only got time to play a week late! I really enjoyed making these with acrylic dabber and a Martha Stewart snowflake punch and free hand doodles and writing.

I have taken one of Christy Tomlinson's classes and have really enjoyed it. It has been relaxing and creative. I recommend the Three Hearts Art Journaling class. I have decided not to go into all the pages but will share some.

Loving the acrylic dabbers and layering.

This is a sleek peek of today's journey...

Have fun over the Bank Holiday. Hugs C XXX

May day already!

That must mean it is the start of a new calendar journal page. Do pop over to The Kathyrn Wheel Blog to check out the pages created by the talented Kate Crane and her followers.

I am really proud of myself for keeping up and having May ready to go this month. I have used lots of acrylic dabbers and Dylusions Spray ink as well as Basic Grey Oxford paper squares.

I really enjoyed doodling on April's page as I went along so I expect I will do that with May too.

Thanks for stopping by on this wet 1st May 2012. Have a good month, can't believe how fast the year is going. Hugs Cherry XXX
