Thank yous and Happy New Year's Eve

Have been playing with my new sidekick this afternoon to rustle up some very simple thank you cards to send. I had some K&CO papers for Christmas so have used them with Gems from Anitas.

So another year has come and gone...

"Let this time be. Let the present stay. Do not

Look back. Do not look forward. Let thought

Idle from dream into daylight, and watch, then, the coast

Climb out to dark, to grey, and then to chalk-white

Cliffs till the grey sea goes blue

And then indeed you

Are found and safe at last

And all your thought will grow

And you will unreel it, a silk-thread, a long-

Travelling, moving-everywhere line

And it will gradually, as you relax. it, become a song

And you will not say 'That is mine'."

Thanks

Wynneth has set the challenge this week over at LGS (a really nice sketch) on Craftbubble with the twist stripes and stars.

As she sent me this lovely Manga girl too I thought I would use her for this challenge. It's that time of year to say Thank you and Tilly had so many lovely gifts I thought I would begin my thank you cards.
Coloured the girly in with PMS - love that Mulberry colour. For the background I used an Anna Griffin stamp and PMs in stripes which I am pleased with. Punched out the stars and mounted it on mirricard. The Thanks is from the set I won a while back and added three Anitas' gems. I edged the card with the Mulberry PM too.
It is a lovely festive time and I have so enjoyed myself and we have a wedding to look forward to on Saturday. Hope everyone is having a great time. Hugs and prosperous New Year wishes. Cherry XXX

Only 6 days to go!

Various Christmas cards - glad I've finished.

I haven't been around much lately due to a bad back and just the time of year - like the rest of you busy. I have been busy making cards and presents. I'm getting really excited and it is so magical with my little girl who is now 21 months.

Cross stitch wall hanging with a great hanger from Debbie Cripps online store.
Trial lunch for the big day - Cranberry, chestnut and parsnip nut loaf (yes I'm veggie!) Decided to combine it with another receipe Mushroom and nut wellington to make a hybid - as this was alittle too sweet and my DH likes pastry.

Finally Lauren has set us a lovely challenge over at LGS to come up with decorations - tree or bauble! Go and have a look at the other's work as it is lovely.
I've gone for tree and have had a great time covering myself in acrylic paint and bronze Perfect Pearls.. Added a little ribbon and some gems and seed beads to finish it off.
The template was from Evie S Things of Beauty.
Can't wait to open my presents as one of them is from Sugar Nellie as I was picked on the first day of Christmas - thank you.
Off to put up the tree - it's beginning to feel like Christmas.

LGS Katie's Sketch

Here is Katie's sketch this week with the twist of using multiple images - it was a pleasure to use. It is very sad that Katie is stepping down from the DT as she is very innovative. She is however a busy lady - do pop over to her blog.

I'm afraid it's another Christmas card!

LGS Snowman

The sketch over at LGS was designed by young Maddie with the added twist Stripes and spots. After much consideration I decided that I'm not a stripes and spot gal.

My card is loosely based on the scheme but I did try a new style with less fuss. I think I like it as an alternative.

Red, white and green Tree

I am in love with this stamp at the moment - it is a dream to colour and play with. I've coloured her using PMs and then added Glossy Accents to her collar, shoes, the tree baubles and star. This enabled me to stick the buttons on her shoes as well.
I've teamed her up with papers from D&D and PM Joyeux Noel collection. The brad is by Dovecraft and the buttons and charm were freebies from CrossStitcher Magazine. The sentiment is a D&D one.
I have enjoyed seeing her come to life in the Colour Create Challenges chosen colours of Red, white and green. Go and check their creations out as they are great. I am entering her so wish me luck!

O Christmas Tree, O Christmas Tree

I love these Norma Fickle Christmas Gnomes from WOJ! When I saw the Allsorts challenge this week Christmas/Carol Song I knew what I wanted to do. "O Christmas Tree", of course!
I have used Lauren's sketch again from LGS and her twist of one colour to make this easel card.

I've coloured Wee in using PMs and the papers are D&D and a little from the 'Butterflies and Blossoms' Stack. The buttons and charm are freebies from Crosstitcher Magazine! The sentiment is D&D too. The brad is from Dovecraft.
I really enjoyed making this so I'm feeling in the mood for 'Rocking Around the Christmas Tree' now. Thanks for looking. Hugs Cherry XXX

Totally Gorgeous LGS

I've decided to team my LGS card with the challenge over at Totally Gorjuss. I've been meaning to enter for a while but not got round to it, this week they are being sponsored by the lovely Susie Sugar and you can use any girly image if you haven't got a GG. The work is amazing so go and have a look.

Lauren's sketch this week over at LGS is very detailed and her twist was to use one colour predominantly! The DT have done a great job go and check them out on Craftbubble. It is certainly good to think about colour differently.
GG is coloured using PMs and is teamed with a D&D blue card with papers from 'Butterflies and Blossoms' stack and some papers sent to me by lovely crafters as well as silver mirricard. The stickers are Anita's and the glass beads were from my stash.
I hope the 17 year old it is made for with love likes it! Thanks for looking. Hugs Cherry XXX

Allsorted 7th Manga Easel

A lovely crafter (thanks Wynneth) sent me this gorgeous Manga Boy and he seemed perfect for my friend's son's 7th birthday card.

I've teamed him with the sketch by Karen on LGS to create an easel card. He is coloured using PMs and I've used papers from Paper Pizazz Kids pack. The sentiment is a D&D decoupage one and the card candy is from my stash.
I quite enjoyed making this as a change from CHristmas and girly! I've decided to enter it in the Allsorts challenge 'Kids' set by the wonderful Emma. Go and check out their lovely work and have a go! Thanks for looking. Hugs Cherry XXX

Truly Scrumptious Bear

There is a great sketch over at the Truly Scrumptious Challenge blog this week with the added twist of adding texture. Thought I would have a go with this See-D's Polar Bear stamp coloured with PMs and some Glossy Accents on his nose. The card is a mixture of Papermania amd Artymiss mirricard. The paper is a handmade one by Artymiss which adds texture. The thread is by Maderia and the snowflake is by Crafttime. The bells are from my stash, just for a little more texture. The sentiment is a D&D one.

Thanks girls I really enjoyed working with this. Hugs Cherry XXX

Wee and Reindeer Christmas Easel

A card for Christmas using one of the deliciously cute WOJ stamps by Norma Fickle.

I've created one of the popular Easel cards using Personal Impressions white card. The papers are from Papermania Joyeux Noel range. The image is coloured using PMs and a little Glossy Accents on the reindeer's nose and hooves. The snowflake brad is a Dovecraft one and the glitterpaper and snowflake are from Crafttime. The gold mirriboard is from Artymiss.

The sketch is by Karen on the LGS group on Craftbubble who added the twist of an easel card. Thanks Karen I love this sketch and twist. The inspiration over there is amazing and certainly worth a look and a go.

I am entering this in the Lovely Susie Sugar's Christmas Challenge over at her new challenge blog - Susie's Sassy Challenge blog. I thought I would also enter it for the 'SNow Much Fun' challenge over at Cupcake Craft Challenge Blog and the 'Snow' challenge set by the lovely Jaime over at Crafty Creations Blog.

Tags galore

Had a lovely afternoon yesterday and made up some tags. First lot were using See-D's pud and stocking image coloured with PMs. Card was PM from their Vintage Christmas range and Crafttime glitterpaper in gold.

The second lot were made on Co-ordination's Spellcaster card with Perfect Pearls using a range of stamps from Craft Stamper Mag and See-D's and Daisy and Dandelion. The fibre was from my stash a sort of pale blue. I also added some Mill Hill Beads in blue using Glossy Accents.

Thanks for looking. Have a great Tuesday. I'm off Christmas shopping. Hugs Cherry XXX

Christmas Tag for LGS

Katie's challenge this week on LGS is a little different - make a Christmas tag in whatever way you like. Perfick!
Got my Terra out and covered cardboard shape with it and stamped into it using See-D's star and Let it Snow stamps. Dabbed over it all when dried with heat gun with acrylic paints in red and gold. Over this I added Gold Glimmer mist and some gold seed beads. This gives a great metallic shine. I finished it off with Celebrate red ribbon misted and hay presto one tag! Great fun.
I love this effect and have a few more ideas and love how they turn out. Hugs Cherry XXX

NEC Goodies and play!

I had a surprising and lovely day out at the NEC yesterday thanks to the babysitting that my mum was able to do.

Once I'd got over the price of parking on top of the show entry it was fabulous. The show was a hive of activity and I particularly enjoyed the Paperartsy and Clarity products, displays and demos.

So here are my small purchases - I could have spent hundreds!

This afternoon during Tilly's nap I had a play and I love my new toys. I don't know which I love most the glimmer mists, the brayer or the Terra!
I'm thinking of using this method to create Christmas Pressie tags - add a hole and lovely ribbon - what do you think? They are really 3D as you stamp into the Terra (sort of masonry paint) and add what ever colours over the top.

The best bit is I've still got lots to try and now improve - infinity and beyond!

Have a lovely evening and weekend, especially if you're off to the NEC. I'm off out for a curry - the first time in ages with DH as mum is still staying with us - hooray and thanks mum.
