Creative Chemistry 101 Days 1&2

I have decided to sign up for Mr Holtz's online class, inspired by my friend Clare, and her journey. Of course, I am behind as the class actually finished but because of the way the course has been set up you can enjoy it now and at your leisure.

I have really enjoyed watching Day 1 and Day 2 this afternoon, amongst other things, LO even enjoyed it too, especially the magic chemistry sounds. Doing it now takes the pressure off keeping up - which is very good.

I love the PDFs and the labels to adhere to the tags you make, as well as the sheer brilliance of Mr Holtz and his techniques. If you haven't signed up and were not sure then I would say give it a go.

Distress Inks:

LO also did some decorating of gingerbread people for her friends who are coming to play tomorrow.

Hope you have had a good day too. Cherry X

Follower Candy

The latest Art Journalling Journal popped into my shopping basket twice. One for me and one for one of my followers. If you fancy owning this leave me a comment on this post by April 15th. A big thank you from me to my followers. Cherry X

Happy Easter

Rosie has set the challenge over on Craft Mad & Loving It Forum with a photo inspiration. Lots of lovely mini eggs - mmmmmmmm. It is torture for me as I have given up chocolate for Lent. Having a limited supply of equipment with me I have entered into the spirit of it by using an Easter egg wrapper (not mine!) to make the foil flower heads and leaf. The dies are Paperartsy ones.

I have made the stems out of a Darkroom Door wordplate stamp cut up. I have added a few buttons and liquid pearls.

Last Sunday Kathy set the themed challenge 'household items'. Finally, I have had a play and made two cards by just using Papermania paper and one of their new stamp sets, inks and the same wordplate stamp.

Have a great weekend. I will be offering a little follower 'thank you' candy as I really do value you and your comments and I am not always the best blogger or commenter. Thank you Cherry xxxx

Being Good Enough

I struggle with this concept all of the time. If it is not perfect/right/best then it is not good enough. This is something I only seem to apply to me. I value the different approaches used by everyone else and love seeing those around me following their paths without placing the same rules on them.

I was reading Violette's journalling book and loved her Gremlin page idea (draw the inner gremlin on the page and have a dialogue with it then start journalling), that is what started me thinking about the struggle I have on a daily basis with should/could/ought. Often it is these that place me in my sterile box of non-activity or domestic pre-occupation. Having returned to work in September, I have noticed they have got louder and the ability to be and enjoy have got less.

This is my answer today, the focus on the colours and dream-like qualities of being on the journey where it is the journey that allows the daily miracles to occur within oneself. The journey is the allowable activity for me that the other words stop if I let them.

What gets you facing those gremlins?

I enjoyed creating with the Dylusions inks, Distress Ink Markers, Sharpie Markers, Caron D'Ache pastels, liquid Pearls and Glossy Accents. Thanks to Louise for the image. Also used tissue paper and book pages. The quote is from Violette's book and is credited to Saki.

Thanks for visiting on Maundy Thursday. C XxX

April journal page

http://thekathrynwheel.blogspot.co.uk/

The Kathryn Wheel is the lovely Kate Crane's blog where she hosts Art Journal Calendar 2012 pages.

My April pages are a combination of some happy hours playing with Dylusions Ink, oil pastels and stencils. I have a new date stamp too. I think I will enjoy filling these in. I have used discreet shaded squares to write in rather than cut out shapes to write on.

I really like the Satsuma colour.

Thanks for stopping by. Hugs Cherry x

Sun In Skye

We have had another lovely day in Skye, the sun even came out this afternoon so we headed to Glenbrittel beach. On the way back I stopped to take some pics. The first two are for my friend Kathy who has a pen-friend who lives in Carbost on Skye and we passed there today.

The third is a lovely view close to my Mum's house - Loch Bracadale.

I have even managed to get some art journaling done. Not ready to show yet. Hope you have had a good day too. We are back at Mum's sat in front of a roaring fire. Cherry x
